NICKEFFECT General Assembly Meeting: the main updates that mark the middle of the project

The NICKEFFECT consortium got together for the 5th General Assembly meeting on June 13-14, 2024, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. This gathering marked the midpoint of the 48-month project, bringing together all partners for two full days of updates, discussions, and strategic planning.

The meeting focused on a series of presentations that provided a comprehensive overview of the project’s progress. Key presentations included:

  1. Project Management and Coordination
  2. Sustainable-by-Design approach
  3. Advancements in developing Coating Materials with tuned porosity and characterization
  4. Modelling of Electrodeposition Process
  5. Upscale of the production processes, deposition on demonstrators
  6. Dissemination, Exploitation, and Guiding & Standardization
  7. Materials validation in relevant environments

The General Assembly also counted with an exciting visit to the laboratories at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona’s science faculty. Attendees had the opportunity to observe innovative research facilities and ongoing experiments related to the NICKEFFECT project.

As the meeting concluded, the partners had a clear roadmap for the next six months. Key action items included:

  • Continued focus on sustainable development and environmental impact reduction.
  • Enhanced collaboration for the upscaling of production processes and real-world demonstrations.
  • Strategic dissemination of results and engagement with end-users to validate materials in practical settings.

The progress made so far within the NICKEFFECT project is promising, and the strategic plans laid out for the coming months are set to drive the project towards achieving its ambitious goals.

The NICKEFFECT team extends its gratitude to the partner Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona for hosting this crucial meeting and to all partners for their ongoing dedication and contributions. Together, they are driving innovation and sustainability in the development of advanced coating materials.
